Month 1 Primary Care

Primary care in a residential treatment setting involves stabilization and basic psychoeducation. At One Step Rehab we also complete what are known as “Mind Maps”. These Mind Maps details your addiction history, and the costs and consequences of your drug or alcohol addiction. We also engage your family members to provide feedback during this phase of treatment if appropriate and we have your permission to do so.

Addiction is a family illness which affects everyone. Transparency around the addiction treatment process also aids long term recovery, and helps to heal relationships. If you need to leave at the end of month 1 will create a relapse prevention plan (the “basic 3 circle plan”)

Month 2 Secondary Treatment

Secondary treatment at One Step is where we deepen the psychotherapeutic element of the treatment program using a CBT technique called ABC (Activators, Beliefs, Consequences). You will also build a recovery vision, and understand how to place your core values as reference points for your future goals.

If you have been using the holistic training program which is on offer (for 8 hours a week) then you will deepen your breathwork and meditation practice during this portion of the treatment. Of course, if you stay for a second month you will also get much fitter through the intensive Muay Thai, cardio, and weightlifting elements of the program.

Month 3 Step Down

Month three should be a transition to help you learn how to manage exposure to the outside world before returning home. In this phase of residential addiction treatment it is important for clients to go out from the center several times a week, to attend local 12 step meetings or do other constructive activities.

You will do group psychotherapy in the mornings as normal, and then leave during the day (3 to 4 days a week minimum). In the evenings you will return and submit a urine test and breath test. The price for the third month reflects the lowered level of care.

Additional costs may be payable for a medically supervised detox at our partner facility. If required, this is necessary for treatment of alcohol; benzodiazepines like Valium, Klonopin, Xanax and Ativan; and opioids like heroin, fentanyl and Oxycontin.
